GAME Preview

Meralco Bolts

Meralco Bolts head into the contest with a 108-93 victory against the Blackwater Bossing. With this win, they extended the winning streak to two matches in the 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Meralco will now again play against the struggling Terrafirma DYIP this weekend. The best thing is the Bolts previously defeated them in the Philippines Cup earlier. With two more games to go, they are likely to enter the playoffs.

Meralco have played four road games in the ongoing competition and won all of them. They posted a 6-5 record in the 2025 Philippines Cup. They finished seventh in the competition and qualified for the playoffs. However, they were knocked out in the semifinals against TNT. The Bolts are 7-3 against Magnolia in the last ten meetings. They won five out of the last five matches in the PBA games.

Meralco posted a 8-3 record in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup and they are standing at fourth spot. The top eight teams will qualify for the playoffs. The Bolts averaged 106 points in the last ten games of the competition. They will play two more games and win in both games will help them to update the seeding. Marvin Jones could be an offensive threat for this game. The young centre averaged 24.4 points in the competition. We back him to score 15 or more points in the upcoming fixture against Magnolia.

Magnolia Hotshots

Magnolia enter the contest with a blowout victory against Titan Ultra and ended the three-game homestand with a 2-1 record. They will be back on the road for the crucial encounter against TNT, who defeated them earlier in the Philippines Cup playoffs. Magnolia had a game-high 37-point lead in the game and never trailed. The visitors outscored Giant Risers 34-20 in the second quarter and it proved decisive.

The Hotshots lost their first three games in the 2026 PBA Commissioner’s Cup and then made a comeback to become a playoff contender. Magnolia went 5-2 through the last seven games in the competition. The visitors need a solid performance to beat Meralco. They are 3-7 against them in the last ten games. They finished sixth in the Philippines Cup where they lost to TNT in the first-round.

Magnolia averaged 103 points in the last ten games. They won the first half eight out of ten times but converted into four wins. The Hotspots are 6-5 in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup and they are on the verge of elimination. One more defeat and they can slip to No. 9. Only the top eight teams will qualify for the playoffs. They will play two more games and they need at least one win to crack the playoffs. Nuni Omot could be an offensive threat in this fixture. He averaged 32.7 points in the current season. We back him to score 15 or more points in the upcoming fixture against Meralco.
